Express Comparison—跟(gen)

In Chinese, there are many ways to express comparison, including The preposition , The preposition , The verb , The verb , The verb 不如, The adverb 越来越.
◆ Using to Express Comparison
The preposition can also be used to express the differences and similarities between two people or objects. Use to explain whether two people or things are or are not the same. Use to describe the difference more specifically. The basic form of such a sentence is:
Person or thing to compare (subject) + Person or thing to compare (adverbial adjunct) + predicate
For example,
她和你一样。(She is the same as you.) (The pronoun 她 acts as the subject, the prepositional phrase 和你 is the adverbial adjunct, and the adjective 一样 is the predicate.
这道菜的味道和那道差不多。(The flavor of this dish is the same as that one.) (Frequently used predicate adjectives include, 一样、差不多、and 相同.)
